For more than ten years now Domenico’s has
been serving up first class Italian cuisine in Southend.
Monday to Friday there is a great value set menu available
that gives diners a good choice of dishes for just £14.50 per
person. There’s also an excellent a la carte menu and daily
specials to select from, including delights such as Dover sole
with white wine, prawns and mushrooms, beef stroganoff and
impressive pasta and flambé dishes, such as scampi cooked in
white wine, mushrooms, brandy and a touch of cream.
Fisherman’s Wharf
For some really tasty fish and seafood dishes it’s advisable
to book a table at the highly popular Fisherman’s Wharf. The
family run business insists that all its food is cooked to
order to ensure the best possible results. On the menu you’ll
find the likes of seafood kebabs, lobster thermidor, mussels
in garlic and a highly recommended clam chowder. To add to the
appeal in summer there’s also the opportunity to dine al
fresco.
Oscar’s
is no ordinary restaurant. Describing itself as an
entertainment restaurant it regularly hosts karaoke,
sing-a-long, disco and murder mystery nights making it a fun
place to celebrate a birthday with friends. The varied menu
ranges from tandoori chicken, seafood cocktail and grilled
sardines for starters, followed by the likes of lasagne, beef
chasseur and roasted cod fillet.
The
Boatyard
Situated alongside the Thames Estuary the Boatyard is a fish
restaurant, so named, as it is located in what used to be a
working boatyard, boasting excellent views out over the water.
Choose from a list of starters that includes seared tuna with
wasabi, Thai fishcakes, or pan seared foie gras, followed by
mains such as scallops with minted garden pea puree, roast cod
on a sweet potato cake, or Dover sole with watercress and
lemon butter.
